How about reusing the J.R. Watkins Natural Home Care bottles? Here are some great ways to put them to use.
- Use them to mist water on delicate indoor plants (after they have been rinsed clean).
- Planter — Make your own planter by cutting off the top 1/3 of the bottle, poke holes in the bottom and enjoy your new planter. This is a great activity for children; they love to watch their plants grow!
- Bug House — Reuse as a container to collect bugs and insects for your child's bug collection. Once bugs are inside place a cloth around the top of the bottle and secure with a rubber band.
- Cooler Ice Packs — Fill bottle 2/3 full of water and freeze. That way you always have ice packs on hand.
- Ocean in a Bottle — Fill ½ the bottle with oil and half with water. Add food coloring and glitter. Makes a fun and mesmerizing toy.
- Substitute Funnel — Cut off the bottom 1/3 of the bottle and keep it in the car for adding oil or window washing fluid.
- Textured Paint — Dilute latex interior paint 1 : 1 with water and spray onto walls for a decorative finish.
And when you've run out of uses, clean and recycle! Note: Rinse bottles several times with soap and water before using them for any other purpose.
