I'm not a coffee drinker but I've been making iced coffee for my hubby as the outdoor temps reach 100 degrees F and above here in Northern California. Iced coffee is a delicious cool treat.
I can make a Frappuccino at home in minutes for a fraction of the cost you'd pay for a Starbucks-style iced coffee. And this recipe has fewer calories unless you indulge by adding Caramel Whipped Cream to top it off.
This recipe makes 24 ounces of iced coffee drink, enough for two generous Frappuccinos.
Frappuccino
3 cups ice cubes
1 cup cold strong coffee, brewed and chilled
1/2 cup milk or more depending on taste
sugar free sweetener, to taste
1 teaspoon Watkins Vanilla Extract
2 tablespoons fat free whipped topping or 2 tablespoons Caramel Whipped Cream
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in the canister of a blender and blend until combined, less than 1 minute. Taste and adjust with a splash more coffee, milk, dash of sweetener, or a few ice cubes.
2. Garnish with whipped topping or Caramel Whipped Cream. Serve immediately.
You can also add a drizzle of caramel ice cream topping as a finishing touch. You'll have to warm the caramel a little in the microwave so it will drizzle.
