Baking Vanilla in a Different Shaped Bottle?

We've gotten several questions about the larger, slightly different shaped bottle being used for Watkins top selling Baking Vanilla in the United States.

Why is there a different bottle being used?

With the pandemic, the supply chain has been strained in all sorts of ways. One of those ways is in packaging. Watkins 11 ounce bottle is custom made with a stamped "THE WATKINS CO." on the side (pictured on the left above). The company making these has been unable to make enough to supply Watkins for the current demand. So Watkins had to find an alternate source for bottles.

It looked bigger so I measured how much was in it. It contains 15 ounces! Will they all be filled with this much Baking Vanilla?

Yes it appears that the only bottle Watkins could get enough of was this slightly larger bottle (pictured on the right above). They are using the same label as the regular bottle, but as some have discovered, it is actually filled with almost 15 ounces of Baking Vanilla. A different bottle yes, but also a great value for you!

Are all the products in the 11 ounce plastic bottle being switched to this alternate bottle?

No, only the Baking Vanilla in the United States.

Does it seal differently?

This bottle has a different cap and seal similar to what you might find on a 20 ounce bottle of soda. It is sealed until you twist off the top and break the plastic band.

How long will Watkins be shipping Baking Vanilla in this larger bottle?

We've been told as long as several months, but this could change anytime.

Guess what? It's also on sale this month (February 2021) for 20% off!!
